This is my 15th season coaching the UDAC pre team.  At 16 years old (or back in the day) I completed the lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor training. Using these skills I have taught swim lessons including private lessons for many years. While attending college/high school I was the manager and head lifeguard for Wissahickon Apartment pool. Most recently I have taught swimming and diving lessons at Lansdale Municipal pools and Perkiomen Valley High School community education programs as well as assisting with the stroke and turn clinic here at UDAC. For the last 3 years I have been the assistant diving coach at PVAC.

My two daughters, Amy and Ericka graduated from Pennridge High School.  Amy has 3 children - ages 15, 12 an 10. Ericka is currently a stay at home mom taking care of her 3 boys ages 12, 2 and 4 months.  Three of my grand children have participated in the UDAC pre team program.  My favorite sports are equally swimming and golf.  My hobbies are reading hiking, cycling and skiing.

My competitive swimming experience started when I was 7 years old on the Lansdale Swim Team and continued through high school and into college. I attended East Stroudsburg State College, majoring in elementary education. I have also taken education and sign language courses at Penn State extension school and MONTCO. I finally earned enough credits to receive my associate's degree. My certifications include CPR, AED, Coaches Safety, first aid, and have the USA coaching certification.

Philosophy of Coaching:  I want to share my love of swimming with every swimmer I meet, from the swimmer who barely makes it across the pool to the fastest swimmer in the pool.  Swimming is not only a sport that emphasizes hard work, dedication and teamwork but offers life skills that can help each individual in all aspects of life. Age 5 or 105, swimming teaches leadership skills, teamwork, respect for others and yourself, also an appreciation for health and fitness that remains with you for a lifetime.
