Chelsea has been competitively swimming since she was nine years old. She started her swimming career at a summer swim club called Village Recreation and Swim Club located in East Brunswick, New Jersey. During the winter season, she swam for the Raritan Valley Riptides. In high school, Chelsea swam for the East Brunswick High School Bears and earned four varsity letters. Chelsea also continued her career by swimming for Elizabethtown College.
Chelsea graduated from Elizabethtown College in 2007 with a degree in Elementary and Special Education. She recently earned her master’s degree in Elementary Education with a Reading Specialist Certification. After graduating from college, Chelsea moved to Fort Washington, where she currently teaches learning support at Fort Washington Elementary School in Upper Dublin School District. She has now been coaching with the Upper Dublin Aquatic Club for the past four years as an assistant coach.
Chelsea’s coaching experience started as an assistant head coach for Village Recreation and Swim Club. After being an assistant coach for two years, Chelsea then took the position of head swimming coach for the next three years. In addition to her coaching positions, Chelsea was a swimming instructor for the aquatic program at Rutgers University in New Jersey for three summers.
Chelsea loves coaching kids because they are so motivated and excited to learn something new every time they come to practice. She also enjoys coaching a sport that she loves and teaching kids to develop the same positive, enthusiastic attitude about swimming that she shares.
