Brian Affleck joins UDAC as a Preteam coach with nearly a decade of swim instruction experience.
He has been swimming year-round since age 3 and began teaching young swimmers almost a decade ago. He was asked by his coach one winter to help instruct a group of mentally challenged athletes, and took the opportunity without hesitation. The experience opened his eyes to the rewards and satisfaction that comes with motivating children to face and overcome an array of aquatic challenges.
During his high school years at Abington, Brian became Captain of the Men's Swim Team and personally recruited and trained some of his non-swimming friends. He realized his talent in educating swimmers, especially the youngest groups, while helping out part-time with his coaches at the Lower Moreland Swim Club. Since then, Brian has spent his summers organizing and instructing group lessons for both Valley and Manorlu Swim Clubs. You can often find Brian having a total blast helping kids discover the fun and challenges that abound in the sport of competitive swimming.
