UDAC defined groups or "teams" are based on several criteria including the following: training focus, expectations for practice and meet attendance, plus several goals for the swimmers in that group to strive for. Group assignments will be based on experience, past accomplishments, age, stamina and skill. Each "team" will have a dedicated UDAC coach. As athletes progress, the opportunity exists for athletes to move up and form a new set of goals. Please work with us and help us to build this program into what it truly can become: the best possible competitive aquatics experience for each and every athlete.

NOTE: Initial descriptions and assignments can be viewed by clicking on the link for each team. The coaches will continue group assignments as registrations are received. Please be aware that group adjustments may be made in the first week as swimmers' abilities are further assessed. If you have questions about the placement of your swimmer or do not see your swimmer on the list, please contact Kate Scheuer (email@udac.us).
Note on Group Promotions: When deciding to promote a swimmer up a training group, coaches look at 3 things:
Attendance - Your dedication to an activity is reflected in how often you do it.
Practice performance - Does the swimmer NEED to move in order to maintain their progress. They have actually swum themselves out of their current group.
Meet performance - Does the swimmer need to move in order to continue their level of meet performance. Practice perfromance is most important because it reflects the day to day work of the swimmer.
** It is at the coaches' discretion as to whether a swimmer is physically and emotionally prepared to move to the next group.
Note on Attendance: The purpose of the team goals and practice requirements/recommendations is to set a target that will be needed in order for the swimmers to progress in technique and aerobic ability and be able to progress from one practice group to the next. Should a swimmer consistently miss practice, it is possible that their conditioning could fall to a level that would require the swimmer to have to move down a group for a period of time to protect the safety of the swimmer and the practice integrity of the group.
